The moral of the short story "The pit and the Pendulum" By Edgar Poe was that
you shouldn't give up on believing in hope because you never know what might happen in bad situations. You could come out happy because believing in that little bit of hope you have could change the way you handle a bad situation. In this short story because the man in the story had just little bit of hope it helped him because he was thinking of surviving and came up with a great way to free himself from dying.

The moral the story "The young King" by Oscar Wilde is that being rich isn't everything. That being equals with everyone and having a happy community is better than being rich and selfish and having people hate you. Being rich doesn't make you have a happier life because you think you can have anything in the world what makes people happy is kindness and love each other.
