In Sweat by Hurston's I felt that the languages in the story was really strong, brutal and truthful. Faulkner's luaus wasn't as aggressive and powerful as Hurston's story. The language went well with the time period of the story because during that time is was very racial. The language used in That Evening sun is similar with Hurston's story because of the choice in words that were used. It also relates to the time period like Sweat. Although the words used were very cringing in a way when read because today most people don't use that type of language.

The way the language relates to the identity and background of the author is that Hurston states her race was the reason why she got herself in huge trouble. There were similarities and differences between both of the stories. The min similarity is how both of these stories use the same type of language and how they both are based off of the same time era. They both also change up the way they spell certain words to give their readers a sense of an accent.
